Common use of Changes in Schedule Clause in Contracts

Changes in Schedule. An employee shall be notified in writing at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to any change in their regular day off sequence or shift, provided, however, that this provision shall not apply when there are emergency situations or manpower shortages, or when an employee requests such change and it is approved by the Sheriff. (The Sheriff shall be allowed to continue swing shifts per letter of understanding, attached to this contract). The Employer will not change any employee's schedule in order to avoid the payment of overtime, except as provided in the above referenced Letter of Understanding, because of Union activity or for the purpose of disciplinary action.
