Changes in Pay. A. Promotion. A promotion occurs when an employee moves from a position in one classification to another position in a different classification which is assigned a higher pay range. Upon promotion, the employee is provided an increase of no less than ten (10) percent of base pay or to the minimum of the new pay range. In no case will an individual’s base pay be less than the minimum of the pay range for the position to which the employee is promoted.
