Common use of Cash in Lieu of Medical Coverage Clause in Contracts

Cash in Lieu of Medical Coverage. The voluntary Cash in Lieu of Medical Coverage Program is available to all full-time employees. An employee electing to participate, will forego medical insurance coverage, and will receive one-half of the cash value of the Kaiser Sacramento Area “Employee Only” premium in his/her paycheck on the 25th of the month. This additional income is taxable and the employee must have medical insurance through another source (e.g. spouse or a previous employer).
