The CAREER TRAINING clause outlines the employer's commitment to providing employees with opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement. CAREER TRAINING. A. Drivers are required to successfully complete ten (10) hours of training per year. B. Up to three (3) hours of the required ten (10) hours of training may be fulfilled at the regular rate of pay by verified completion of pre-approved training at seminars, courses or training programs other than those scheduled by the District.
CAREER TRAINING. It is the joint purpose of the parties that employees in the bargaining unit be afforded an opportunity to qualify for advancement to professional positions with the Board of Education through experience and through appropriate career training. To achieve this purpose, ef­ fective in September 1973, the Board will make avail­ able each school year to all employees covered by this Agreement, six semester hours of career training each semester and six additional semester hours of career training during the summer, each semester hour being equivalent to one credit; and it is further agreed that: 1. School-Year Training a. The Board will grant each college semester to bar­ gaining unit employees having a work program of 27}4 hours per week released time of 2’/t hours per week with pay for study at an approved college or for high school equivalency training, provided that in that semester the employee is enrolled for and completes a total of at least five semester hours of such study or training. b. The Board will grant each college semester to bar­ gaining unit employees having a work program of 30 hours or more per week released time of three hours per week with pay for study at an approved college or for high school equivalency training, provided that in that semester the employee is enrolled for and completes a total of at least six semester hours of such study or training. c. The Board will grant each college semester to bar­ gaining unit employees having a work program of 25 hours per week released time of two hours per week with pay for study at an approved college or for high school equivalency training, provided that in that semester the employee is enrolled for and completes a total of at least five semester hours of such study or training. d. Employees in the bargaining unit having a program of 20 hours per week will be paid for an additional two hours per week for time spent during a college semester in approved college study or high school equivalency training, provided that the employee is enrolled for and completes in the semester a total of at least four semester hours of such study or training. e. Employees who are enrolled in the college training program financed by the Human Resources Administra­ tion will be covered by the provisions of the preceding sub-paragraphs only in the event that the Human Re­ sources Program is discontinued.
CAREER TRAINING. Verso is committed to supporting the ongoing learning and growth of its employees. We consider knowledge building and skills enhancement to be a part of each employee’s responsibilities and that training and teaching is a part of each supervisor’s responsibilities. To this end, supervisors will make every effort to ensure that each employee acquires the knowledge necessary to advance in his/her/their career. Verso encourages but cannot guarantee continued training outside of the guidance that the supervisor can provide. Where possible, Verso will look for opportunities to provide learning opportunities that will enhance the professional development of all staff. Verso encourages employees to seek out and initiate professional development opportunities such as courses, seminars, trainings, workshops, conferences, language courses, or time spent with a mentor that will assist or improve their work at Verso and help them make a long-term commitment to working at the organization. Subject to a supervisor’s approval, Verso will cover the costs of employee-initiated professional development activities; where possible, lead-persons should initiate such requests during the annual budget process.

  • Orientation and Training A transferring employee will be orientated separately to both or their new home in accordance with Article 20 the collective agreement of the designated employer.

  • Job Training ‌ The Employer and the Union shall establish a Joint Committee on Training and Skill Upgrading for the following purposes: (1) for planning training programs for those employees affected by technological change; (2) for planning training programs to enable employees to qualify for new positions being planned through future expansion or renovation; (3) for planning training programs for those employees affected by new methods of operation; (4) for planning training programs in the area of general skill upgrading. Whenever necessary, this Committee shall seek the assistance of external training resources such as the Federal Human Resources Development Canada and Provincial Ministry of Labour, or other recognized training institutions.

  • Trainings Appointment of any length involving two (2) or more Consumers who might need to split up to join different trainings, group discussions, etc.

  • Technical Training The CAISO and the Participating TOs shall respond to reasonable requests for support and provide relevant technical training to each other’s employees to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the CAISO Controlled Grid and to comply with any NERC or WECC operator certification or training requirements. Examples of such technical training include, but are not limited to: (1) the theory or operation of new or modified equipment (e.g., control systems, Remedial Action Schemes, protective relays); (2) computer and applicator programs; and (3) CAISO (or Participating TO) requirements. The Parties shall enter into agreements regarding the timing, term, locations, and cost allocation for the training.

  • Training a. The employer, in consultation with the local, shall be responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing harassment and sexual harassment awareness program for all employees. Where a program currently exists and meets the criteria listed in this agreement, such a program shall be deemed to satisfy the provisions of this article. This awareness program shall initially be for all employees and shall be scheduled at least once annually for all new employees to attend. b. The awareness program shall include but not be limited to: i. the definitions of harassment and sexual harassment as outlined in this Agreement; ii. understanding situations that are not harassment or sexual harassment, including the exercise of an employer's managerial and/or supervisory rights and responsibilities; iii. developing an awareness of behaviour that is illegal and/or inappropriate; iv. outlining strategies to prevent harassment and sexual harassment; v. a review of the resolution of harassment and sexual harassment as outlined in this Agreement; vi. understanding malicious complaints and the consequences of such; vii. outlining any Board policy for dealing with harassment and sexual harassment; viii. outlining laws dealing with harassment and sexual harassment which apply to employees in B.C.
