Capitalized Lease Obligation Sample Clauses

A Capitalized Lease Obligation clause defines the treatment of lease agreements that are accounted for as liabilities on a company's balance sheet, typically under accounting standards that require certain leases to be recognized as assets and corresponding obligations. This clause clarifies which leases are considered capitalized, often distinguishing them from operating leases, and may specify how these obligations are calculated or reported for financial covenants or compliance purposes. Its core function is to ensure consistency and transparency in financial reporting, helping parties understand the impact of lease commitments on a company's financial position and risk profile.
