Section 5 Once a year, in September, or any other time mutually agreeable to the parties, the Sheriff shall have the right to buy back accrued compensatory time of bargaining unit members.
Section 6 The Sheriff will continue to maintain the following work schedules which will not be altered without giving at least sixty (60) days’ notice (unless mutually agreed upon by both parties) during which time the Sheriff agrees to bargain the impact of any such changes with the PBA. The schedules for specialized units may be modified as needed. Such modifications are not subject to impact bargaining. ⮚ Corrections Operations - Day Shift (2 on/ 2 off / 3 on/ 2 off/ 2 on/ 3 off) ⮚ Corrections Operations - Night Shift (4 on/4 off) Notwithstanding the varying work schedules established herein, all disciplinary suspensions shall be effected upon the basis of an eight (8) hour “day”. Accordingly, for example, a two (2) day suspension shall mean 16 hours without pay. If a bargaining unit member is assigned to work shifts longer than 8 hours, any portion of a shift remaining after serving the suspension may be worked by the member, or subject to the member’s use of compensatory time or accrued annual leave at the discretion of the bargaining unit member. For example: if a bargaining unit member works ten (10) hour shifts and is suspended for one (1) day, the member is suspended for 8 hours and may choose to work the remaining two (2) hours, or may choose to utilize two (2) hours of compensatory time or annual leave. The hours to be worked shall be determined by the Sheriff. Neither compensatory time nor annual leave shall be denied for the purpose of completing a shift or portion thereof remaining after serving a suspension.

The purpose of this exception is to provide a compensatory time maximum for School Resource Officers (SRO’s) that will be sufficient to address after school assignments for activities throughout the School year. Members who transfer from the School Resource Unit will not lose or otherwise forfeit any hours over the one hundred sixty (160) hour threshold. Section 2 The basic workweek for Police Lieutenants covered by this Agreement shall consist of (40) hours, starting at 12:01 a.m. Sunday and ending at 12:00 midnight Saturday, unless otherwise specified or scheduled by management to meet particular requirements of the Departments. Employees Time spent in roll call or briefing for employees required to attend will be paid overtime considered as time worked.
Section 3 All authorized and approved work performed by Police Lieutenants in accord with the Fair Labor Standards Act, as amended, or as otherwise provided excess of forty (40) hours in this Agreement. Authorized PBA time pool, taken during the member’s regularly scheduled work hours, any one (1) workweek shall be considered as overtime and shall be paid (unless the employee is granted compensatory time workedoff) at the overtime rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the Lieutenant’s regular hourly rate of pay.
