Assignment of Routes. A. On Tuesday the week prior to the first day of school runs will be set out for preview. On Thursday the week prior to the first day of school, a special meeting shall be held for the selection of routes, consisting of a basic package and a mid-day package, not to exceed eight (8) hours per day. 1. The basic package will consist of a.m. and p.m. runs. 2. The mid-day package may consist of any run beginning after the last school starting time and before the first school dismissal time. 3. The basic packages and mid-day packages shall be selected by seniority. Drivers absent will be allowed to delegate their selection to another driver (in writing), or they will be assigned the most time available for their seniority. 4. Basic packages are guaranteed two (2) hours in the a.m. and two (2) hours in the p.m. 5. Guaranteed total day of 5.0 hours. B. During the first thirty (30) minimum to forty-five (45) maximum calendar days, pay will be based on the hours selected or hours worked, whichever is greater. C. There will be a reselection of packages by seniority a minimum of thirty (30) to a maximum of forty-five (45) calendar days from the first day of school. D. No posting of routes or bumping before the second selection and/or the last thirty (30) calendar days of school.
