To have the right to plan, direct, and control the work and direction of nurses and the operation of the Retirement Lodge. This includes the right to introduce new and improved methods, facilities, equipment, and to control the amount of supervision necessary, work schedules, the planning or splitting up of departments, and the increase or reduction of personnel in a particular area or overall. To exercise those rights, powers, functions or authority which are not specifically abridged or modified by this Agreement. The Employer will not exercise these rights in a manner inconsistent with the provisions of this Agreement. ARTICLE NO DISCRIMINATION There shall be no discrimination on the part of the Employer or the Association by reason of race, creed, colour, marital status, sex, nationality, ancestry, place of origin, residence, age, political affiliation, or other factors not pertinent to performance with respect to employment, placement, promotion, salary determination, or other terms of employment, or as set out in the Human Rights Code as amended from time to time There shall be no discrimination by the Employer or the Association against any nurse on account of membership or non-membership in, or activities on behalf of the Association.
