Apprentice Training Program. 24.1 The Program The Apprentice Training Program for Granite Cutters, Polishers, Tool Sharpeners and Draftspersons, as developed and approved by the Barre District Granite Manufacturers and the Unions, shall govern the training of apprentices. No provision in the Apprentice Training Program of the Granite Cutters, Polishers, Tool Sharpeners and Draftspersons shall operate in violation of any provisions of this agreement.
Apprentice Training Program. SECTION 1. All duly qualified apprentices shall be under the supervision and control of a Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee composed of an equal number of trustees, half of whom shall be selected by the Employer, and half by the Union. There shall be a minimum of 4 trustees. Said Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee shall formulate and make operative such rules and regulations as they may deem necessary and which do not conflict with the specific terms of this Agreement, to govern eligibility, registration, education, transfer, wages (See Addendum 1), hours (See Addendum 3), working conditions of duly qualified apprentices and the operation of an adequate apprentice system to meet the needs and requirements of the trade. Said rules and regulations when formulated and adopted by the parties hereto shall be recognized as part of this Agreement.
Apprentice Training Program. The apprenticeship training program shall be reasonably increased in the number of apprentices to be enrolled in each new class commencing after the effective date of the within Collective Bargaining Agreement. A five-year (5) Apprenticeship Training Program has been established and will be maintained by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee.
Apprentice Training Program. Employees of the Employer entering the Apprentice Program shall suffer no reduction in their hourly rate of pay. The Apprentice Program shall be two (2) years as provided in the wage rate Schedule A. Apprentices are employees whose duty shall be to cut meat at least twenty-five percent (25%) of the time, among other duties in servicing the Meat Departments. The apprentices shall be examined by a representative of the Employer and a representative of the Union on or before his twenty-third (23rd) month. Should he fail to qualify at this step, he shall continue at the same rate of pay and be given another examination at the end of six (6) months from the first examination date, etc. Employees entering the Apprentice Program shall suffer no reduction in pay.

SECTION 3. It is the understanding of the parties to this Agreement that the funds contributed by signatory Employers to the International Training Institute and any Local Joint Apprenticeship and Training Fund (Local JATC) will not be used to train apprentices or journeymen who will be employed by employers in the Sheet Metal Industry not signatory to a collective bargaining agreement providing for contributions to the International Training Institute and a Local JATC. Therefore, the trustees of the International Training Institute and Local JATC shall adopt and im- plement a Scholarship Loan Agreement Program which will require apprentices and journeymen employed by signatory Employers to repay the cost of training either by service following training within the union sector of the industry or by actual repayment of the cost of training if the individual goes to work for a non signatory Employer in the Sheet Metal Industry.   • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task). Nothing in this Article or provision shall constitute a waiver of either party’s bargaining obligations or defenses. The Employer still has an obligation to notify and bargain changes in terms and conditions of employment with the exclusive representative.

  • Apprenticeship Program The parties agree to meet to discuss the development of mutually agreeable apprenticeship programs. The specific provisions of the apprenticeship programs shall be subject to agreement between the City, the Civil Service Commission (where appropriate), and the Union. Each apprenticeship program, however, shall contain at least the following terms:

  • APPRENTICES/TRAINEES 25.1 Apprentices/Trainees shall be entitled to all of the applicable rates and conditions of employment prescribed by this Agreement. 25.2 For clarification, in addition to the rates in APPENDIX 1, Trainees are entitled to receive full Daily Travel, ▇▇▇▇, BEWT, CIPQ, Superannuation and any other entitlements in accordance with this document. Such entitlements shall not be paid at rates applicable to Apprentices. 25.3 Training arrangements for Apprentices/Trainees shall be as provided in the Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020. 25.4 Apprentices/Trainees shall be entitled to be paid the daily fares and travel allowance whilst attending training. 25.5 The Employer shall be responsible for meeting all costs associated with Apprenticeship/Traineeship training, including any student registration, tuition fee or other course costs. 25.6 During the first year of an Apprenticeship, tools to the minimum retail value of $600.00 shall be supplied by the Employer within a period of three months after the expiry of the probationary period or within a period of six months from the date of commencement of the employment, whichever first occurs. 25.7 During the second and subsequent years (or part of a year) of apprenticeship tools to the retail value of $600.00 shall be supplied by the Employer within a period of three months from the commencement date of each such year (or part of a year) of the indentured Apprenticeship. 25.8 Where an Apprentice has entered a Competency Based Training Agreement, the provision of tools will be on the following basis: (a) During the term of Apprenticeship, an Employer shall, in respect of each level of the apprenticeship program, supply the Apprentice with tools of trade, to a minimum retail value of $600.00. (b) The supply of tools of trade for each level of the program shall be linked to the successful achievement of competencies or, where appropriate, the demonstration of approved levels of progression towards the achievement of competencies as prescribed by the relevant National Training Package or in the relevant Award. (c) Supply of tools will occur no later than three (3) months after the expiry of the probationary period or within a period of six (6) months from the date of commencement of the employment, whichever first occurs, and no later than three (3) months into subsequent levels of the apprenticeship. (d) Apprentices employed under part-time or school based arrangements shall be entitled to a supply of tools consistent with the requirements as outlined in clause 25.6 and clause 25.7 above.

  • First Aid Training In the interests of the occupational safety and health of employees, the Employer will undertake an in-service program of first aid training aimed at providing a first aid officer for each department.
