Aides. The work year shall generally coincide with the student attendance year.
Aides. Aides will receive one hundred percent (100%) up to a maximum of $100 every four (4) years towards reimbursement of the cost of certification. Aides leaving the District prior to the end of the four year period will reimburse the Board on a pro-rated basis.
Aides. Whenever additional non-scheduled hours are available, either during or outside the school day, such hours will be offered on a rotating seniority basis by building.
Aides. The District may consult with unit members concerning the assignment of an instructional volunteer or teacher aide to the unit member. Unit members are encouraged to be involved in interviewing teacher aides and volunteers.
Aides. 1. Aides shall work the day of the annual district meeting to attend the meeting and prepare for the arrival of students. Aides shall be required to complete a sign in/sign out sheet for time spent working on the annual district meeting day.
Aides. District shall, as it deems necessary, be responsible for assigning aides or other student support personnel, including nurses, to accompany special education students during transportation services provided hereunder.
Aides. 1. All aides shall work on days when staff is reporting.
2. Aides shall not be left in the classroom during instruction time unsupervised to monitor students for periods exceeding fifteen (15) minutes daily unless it is considered an administrative emergency. Monitoring of students is a recognized duty of aides; however, the Board will provide meaningful supervision (teacher or certificated person in the classroom/building) in all cases. Whenever an aide is required to remain with students after school beyond the employee’s regular scheduled work day s/he will be paid at their hourly rate of pay for all time worked.
3. Health Aides shall be assigned to provide assistance and/or service to students with physical disabilities which require one-on-one service and assistance which is not a part of the everyday aide's job. No listing of physical disabilities which require special assistance can be complete, however, such a listing would include: catheterization; tracheal device monitoring and/or cleaning; closed-head injury monitoring, movement; oxygen-support monitoring, etc. Health Aides will be given the training and/or coaching needed to enable them to provide appropriate services for students. In the event of unforeseen complications in health aide duties or assignments, the Board will discuss courses of action with the Union, however, the Board reserves the right to make final decisions.
Aides. A. All Aides will be assigned to their current position for each following school year, no later than the last teacher workday.
B. All Aides who work more than five (5) hours shall receive a thirty (30) minute paid lunch.
C. The Board of Education shall pay for the mandatory professional development as required by the State of Ohio PK Licensing and Step Up to Quality. This shall include registration fees for training(s) and hourly rate for time spent acquiring.
Aides. All Aides shall be notified of their salary status for the ensuing year no later than May 30.
Aides. 1) Subclassifications are: library aides, study hall monitors, playground- cafeteria aides, teacher aides, time out room monitor, distance learning positions.
