Common use of Advance Within Pay Grades Clause in Contracts

Advance Within Pay Grades. (a) Each new employee covered by this Agreement shall initially be paid at the "start" rate for the pay grade applicable to his classification, unless a different rate of pay is established pursuant to Section 19.6. Advancement to the next salary Step and all subsequent Steps shall be placed into effect upon completion of one (1) year of full service at each Step.
