ACCOMODATION. 22.01 When it has been medically determined that an employee is unable to return to the full duties of their position due to a disability, the Employer will notify and meet with representatives of the Union to discuss the circumstances surrounding the employee’s return to suitable work. The Employer will notify the Union when the employee has accepted suitable work. The Employer will commit to review positions within the bargaining unit for suitable work prior to a review of all vacant positions within the Employer. 22.02 The Employer recognizes its duty to accommodate the work or workplace to the needs of the disabled employee in order to facilitate an early and safe return to work to the employee’s pre-injury employment or other suitable work. The Employer will notify the Union of employees who qualify to apply for WSIB and Long Term Disability (LTD). The employer agrees to provide the employee with a copy of the workplace and safety insurance board form 7, at the same time it is sent to the board.
