Common use of 5c – Certificate of Insurance Clause in Contracts

5c – Certificate of Insurance. The Contractor agrees to furnish to the Engineer a Certificate of Insurance in conjunction with Items A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H above, fully executed by an insurance company or companies satisfactory to the State, for the insurance policy or policies herein above, which policy or policies shall be in accordance with the terms of the Accord form. For the Workers’ Compensation Insurance and, if applicable, the U.S. Longshoremen and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act coverage, the policy number (s) and term of the policy (ies) shall be indicated on the Certificate of Insurance. Each insurance policy shall state that the insurance company agrees to investigate and defend the insured against all claims for damage, even if groundless.
