medical authority means the medical authority as referred to in clause (p) of section 2 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 or such other medical authority as may, by notification, be specified by the Central Government for certifying “autism”, “cerebral palsy”, “multiple disabilities”, “person with disability” and “severe disability” referred to in clauses (a), (c), (h), (j) and (o) of section 2 of the National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999;
Michigan economic growth authority means the Michigan economic growth authority created in the Michigan economic growth authority act, 1995 PA 24, MCL 207.801 to 207.810.
Health Authority means the regional health board designated under the Health Authority Act, RSBC 1996, c.180, or the Provincial Health Services Authority, to which the Participant is designated under Section 5.4 of this Contract, unless designated otherwise by the Province;
Virginia Stormwater Management Program authority or "VSMP authority" means an authority approved by the State Board after September 13, 2011, to operate a Virginia Stormwater Management Program.
Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) means the Government Agency responsible for oversight of public procurement.
Independent Safeguarding Authority is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Home Office set up under the provisions of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and which is responsible for the decision making and maintenance of two lists covering the children’s and vulnerable adults’ sectors
Foreign Financial Regulatory Authority shall have the meaning given by Section 2(a)(50) of the 0000 Xxx.
Applicable Insurance Regulatory Authority means the insurance department or similar insurance regulatory or administrative authority or agency of the jurisdiction in which the Company is domiciled.
Financial Crime Risk Management Activity means any action to meet Compliance Obligations relating to or in connection with the detection, investigation and prevention of Financial Crime that the Bank or members of the HSBC Group may take.
Central Authority means the entity designated by the United States or a foreign country described in section 102(e)(iv) to perform the functions specified in the Convention.
Foreign central authority means the entity designated by a foreign country described in section 102(e)(iv) to perform the functions specified in the Convention.
Medical examiner means that term as defined in 49 CFR 390.5.
international application means an application filed under this Treaty;
Authority or Housing Authority (HA means the Housing Authority.
Awarding Authority means any Board or Commission of the City of Los Angeles, or any authorized employee or officer of the City of Los Angeles, including the Purchasing Agent of the City of Los Angeles, who makes or enters into any contract or agreement for the provision of any goods or services of any kind or nature whatsoever for or on behalf of the City of Los Angeles.
Insurance Regulatory Authority means, with respect to any Insurance Subsidiary, the insurance department or similar Governmental Authority charged with regulating insurance companies or insurance holding companies, in its jurisdiction of domicile and, to the extent that it has regulatory authority over such Insurance Subsidiary, in each other jurisdiction in which such Insurance Subsidiary conducts business or is licensed to conduct business.
Franchising Authority means any Governmental Authority authorized by any federal, state or local law to grant a Franchise or to exercise jurisdiction over the rates or services provided by a cable television system pursuant to a Franchise or over Persons holding a Franchise.
Virginia Stormwater Management Act means Article 2.3 (§ 62.1-44.15:24 et seq.) of Chapter 3.1 of Title 62.1 of the Code of Virginia.
Governmental Authority(ies) means any federal, state or local government, and political subdivision(s) thereof, and any entity(ies) exercising executive, legislative, judicial, regulatory or administrative functions having or pertaining to government.
Government Authorities means, without limitation, all Government departments and agencies with responsibility for the import and export of goods, the collection of revenue on the import and export of goods and the transport of those goods to include, without limitation, Customs, AQIS, the ATO and the RSA;
Medical examination means the preliminary assessment of a person by an authorized health worker or by a person under the direct supervision of the competent authority, to determine the person’s health status and potential public health risk to others, and may include the scrutiny of health documents, and a physical examination when justified by the circumstances of the individual case;
Local authorities means every county, municipal, and other local board or body having authority to adopt police regulations under the constitution and laws of this state.
Health and Human Services Commission or “HHSC” means the administrative agency established under Chapter 531, Texas Government Code, or its designee.
Best management practice (BMP means a structural device or nonstructural practice designed to temporarily store or treat stormwater runoff in order to mitigate flooding, reduce pollution, and provide other amenities.
Intra-governmental gift means any gift given to a Board member or employee from another Board member or employee, and "inter- governmental gift" means any gift given to a Board member or employee from an officer or employee of another governmental entity.
Contract Awarding Authority means the Board of Supervisors or the individual authorized by the Board of Supervisors to enter into contracts on behalf of the County.
