  • He or she first tests positive for an Infectious and Contagious Disease on or after the effective date of his or her coverage under this Policy or a Prior Plan and is not Impaired on the effective date of coverage under this benefit.An Employee will be deemed to be Disabled, as defined by the Policy, if the Employee is Impaired as a result of an Infectious and Contagious Disease.

  • An Employee is considered “Impaired” by an Infectious and Contagious Disease if: 1.

  • Satisfaction of the Elimination Period, on account of Disability, determined either under this Infectious and Contagious Disease benefit, or other terms of the Policy.2. Determination of the amount of the Disability Benefit, including reductions due to Other Income Benefits.3. Applicability of the Policy’s Exclusions and Limitations, other than any exclusion loss of professional license, occupational license or certification.

  • Continued Eligibility for Infectious and Contagious Disease Benefit Payments: We require periodic proof that the covered person continues to be restricted in the performance of the major duties of his or her own occupation by the employer or a state licensing board.
