Fecal coliforms means the portion of coliform bacteria from fecal sources, as determined by the appropriate procedure in Standard Methods.
Fecal coliforms means bacteria of the coliform group capable of producing gas from lactose at 44.5º C, as determined using approved methods.

Fecal coliforms means any number of organisms common to the intestinal tract of man and animals, whose presence in sanitary sewage is an indicator of pollution.
