Endodontics definition

Endodontics means that branch of dentistry concerning the morphology, physiology, and pathology of the human dental pulp and periradicular tissues. The study and practice encompass the basic and clinical sciences, including the biology of the normal pulp; the etiology, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases and injuries of the pulp; and associated periradicular conditions.
Endodontics means the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of pathological conditions within the pulp chamber or apical area of the tooth root, including root canal treatment.
