Coronary angioplasty definition

Coronary angioplasty means a cardiac catheterization procedure to treat coronary heart disease by utilizing a catheter with a balloon, laser, laser-assisted device, rotational device, stent placement or other mechanical means to unblock an occluded coronary artery.
Coronary angioplasty means the undergoing of an interventional procedure to unblock or widen a coronary artery that supplies blood to the heart to allow an uninterrupted flow of blood.
Coronary angioplasty means the First Occurrence of the use of balloon angioplasty, laser angioplasty, atherectomy, or other forms of catheter based percutaneous transluminal coronary artery therapy to alleviate narrowing or blockage of one or more of the coronary arteries of an Insured performed by a Provider who is board certified in Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery or Cardiothoracic Surgery. Coronary Angioplasty does not include any type of surgery on the pericardium and does not include any type of cardiac catheterization.
