Class A fine definition

Class A fine at the date of publication means a fine not exceeding €5,000 (Source: Fines Act 2010).

Examples of Class A fine in a sentence

  • A person guilty of an offence under Section 12 is liable to a Class A fine (€5,000) or to imprisonment for six months on summary conviction, or to both, or on conviction on indictment to a fine up to€100,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
