The guidance describes “qualified pharmacy technicians.” Pharmacy technicians working in states with licensure or registration requirements must be licensed or registered in accordance with state requirements; pharmacy technicians working in states without licensure registration requirements must have a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) designation from either the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association.
Certified Pharmacy Technician Candidates are limited to routine Dispensing activities, Drug storage, medical coverage claims processing, and cashiering.
