Written Procedure. If the grievance is not satisfactorily settled at Step 1, it may be appealed by delivery to the Department Head within five (5) days after receipt of the answer in Step 1, a written request for a meeting concerning the grievance. A meeting shall be held within ten (10) days thereafter. The meeting shall be attended by the Chief Xxxxxxx, the xxxxxxx writing the grievance, the staff representative of the Union, together with the Employer representatives. The grievant may be allowed to attend the meeting if requested by either party. The Department Head shall give his written answer to the Union within seven (7) days following the meeting.
