Common use of Workmanship and Quality Clause in Contracts

Workmanship and Quality. (a) Employees shall test any installation, plant or equipment, complete appropriate company forms and sign all required documentation in accordance with the applicable statutes, regulations and company policies and procedures. lt is understood that quality assurance is a key factor to ensure the company becomes a more competitive and efficient enterprise. The Parties are therefore committed to the introduction and maintenance of accredited quality assurance programs where deemed necessary by the Employer and in accordance with Australian Standards and company policies and/or procedures. (b) The Company is fully committed to achieving international best practice levels of performance across its entire operations including management, technology, equipment, quality job designs, project management, skills enhancement, and Employer/Employee relations. The Parties agree to co-operate in the joint development and implementation of an International Best Practice Program through which benchmarks for performance are developed in all key areas. The resultant changes to the company's operations will be jointly monitored and evaluated. (c) Programs may be put into place to ensure the following: (i) Implementation of a project quality management system. (ii) Recognition that satisfying the customer's needs generally accords with the meaning of the quality delivery. (iii) An understanding across the total company of the full meaning of quality assurance in the electrical contracting industry. (iv) Involvement of the whole workforce in quality assurance, or continuous improvement, principles. (v) Continued refinement of the project hour control initiative. (vi) Appropriate training is provided to all personnel involved in quality assurance.
