Workforce Program. 12.1 The Authority recognizes the legislature’s mandate that the Authority establish construction workforce goals for utilization of women and minorities during construction of the Project in a percentage at least equal to the current City of Minneapolis goals, and which also includes efforts to include workers from City of Minneapolis zip codes that have high rates of poverty and unemployment. 12.2 In furtherance of the intention of such mandate, the Authority finds it appropriate to adopt this Workforce Program to establish construction workforce utilization goals for the construction work performed by the Authority’s Construction Manager and its various Subcontractors. 12.3 The Authority adopts the following construction workforce utilization goals that have been adopted by the City of Minneapolis and which are based on the underlying data and intent of the workforce goal program established by the Minnesota Civil Rights Act as implemented by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights: 32% minority 6% female (“Workforce Goals”) ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ These Workforce Goals are subject to change in the Authority’s sole discretion based on, for example, the availability of various categories of trade labor, the competition for qualified labor from other concurrent projects, and any changes in the understanding of the supporting data. 12.4 The Authority adopts these Workforce Goals because they are the goals adopted by the City of Minneapolis for development projects in the City during the time period 2013 – 2016. The City of Minneapolis, in turn, adopted these goals based on the goals promulgated by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights for Hennepin County. 12.5 These goals were first established by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. The City of Minneapolis then adopted these same goals. Achievement of these goals may be impacted by the nature of the Minnesota workforce, the number of individuals from licensed trades needed for the Project, the number of other large construction projects that will compete for workers with the Project, and the availability issues these and other factors create. Despite the challenges, the Authority is committed to ensuring that the Construction Manager meets the goals or uses all necessary and reasonable good faith efforts to meet these goals. Workforce Program. The Issuer has created a group consisting of the Wyandotte County Economic Development Council, Kansas City Kansas Community College, Workforce Partnership, the Kansas Department of Commerce and Kansas Manufacturing Solutions and members of the Wyandotte County Church Community (collectively the “Workforce Solutions Group”) to promote employment of residents of Wyandotte County at the Project. Company agrees to work with Issuer and the Workforce Solutions Group to create a (the “Workforce Program”) that will have as a goal that thirty-five percent (35%) of the total employment of the Project will be residents of Wyandotte County; the terms and provisions of the Workforce Program will be subject to the approval of the Company. Following the creation of the Workforce Program and approval of the Workforce Program by Company, Company hereby agrees to use best efforts to implement the Workforce Program. The Issuer and Company agree that failure to achieve the thirty-five percent (35%) goal stated above will not result in an Event of Default hereunder or an adjustment to the Tax Payments set forth herein.
Workforce Program. Pursuant to City and SFMTA policy, Contractor is encouraged to recruit actively minorities and women for its workforce and take other steps within the law, such as on-the-job training and education, to ensure non-discrimination in Contractor's employment practices.
Workforce Program is to provide a specific job training skill set on how to become a security guard and introduce residents to careers in protective services and law enforcement. iCENTER offers training in a growing industry that offers competitive wages, good benefits, and career advancement opportunities with entities that are responsible for high profile security and protective services. ‘iSECURITY 2.0’ will not only provide participants with the opportunity to take and pass State ‘D’ License Exam (level 1), but will add two (2) more state certifications on resident’s resumes. ‘iSECURITY 2.0’ provides the education, training and opportunity for participants to seek higher paying (level 2) positions. Additionally, participants will receive an introduction to Spanish language and job placement assistance. Once enrolled, 20 participants attend iCENTER for training/preparation 3 hours per class, twice a week, for 24 weeks (48 classes’ total). ‘iSECURITY 2.0’ classes will be led by certified consultants with extensive experience in the field of security. The Spanish classes will be taught by ▇▇. ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ a teaching professional with over 8 years of experience in education. LES, a non-profit organization, will assist participants in seeking employment based on their new skill. This project will serve 20 participants 18 and older. Priority will be given to those that are low to moderate income residing in the Hallandale CRA districts or attending school in Hallandale. Historically 95% of youth and families served by iCENTER live in the CRA area. A minimum of 90% of participants will reside in the CRA area. Participants that complete this training will be qualified to seek positions at government agencies, schools, airports, and transportation facilities. The possibilities are endless and this is a starting point into advanced careers such as Police Officers or members of the Armed Forces. This is a skill that will be useful for TSA as well as other government entities that are responsible for high profile security and protective services.   • Workforce A. The Contractor shall employ only orderly and competent workers, skilled in the performance of the services which they will perform under the Contract. B. The Contractor, its employees, subcontractors, and subcontractor's employees may not while engaged in participating or responding to a solicitation or while in the course and scope of delivering goods or services under a City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ contract or on the City's property . i. use or possess a firearm, including a concealed handgun that is licensed under state law, except as required by the terms of the contract; or ii. use or possess alcoholic or other intoxicating beverages, illegal drugs or controlled substances, nor may such workers be intoxicated, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, on the job. C. If the City or the City's representative notifies the Contractor that any worker is incompetent, disorderly or disobedient, has knowingly or repeatedly violated safety regulations, has possessed any firearms, or has possessed or was under the influence of alcohol or drugs on the job, the Contractor shall immediately remove such worker from Contract services, and may not employ such worker again on Contract services without the City's prior written consent.

  • In-Service Programs The parties to this collective agreement recognize the value of in-service education both to the employee and the Employer. A) The Employer reserves the right to identify specific in-service programs deemed compulsory. B) Employees required to attend such programs will be paid at the applicable rate of pay.

  • Catastrophic Leave Program Leave credits, as defined below, may be transferred from one (1) or more employees to another employee, on an hour-for-hour basis, in accordance with departmental policies upon the request of both the receiving employee and the transferring employee and upon approval of the employee's appointing authority, under the following conditions: A. The receiving employee is required to be absent from work due to injury or the prolonged illness of the employee, employee's spouse, registered domestic partner, a domestic partner listed on an “Affidavit for Enrollment of Domestic Partners,” submitted to employee benefits, parent or child, has exhausted all earned leave credits, including but not limited to sick leave, compensatory time, holiday credits and disability leave and is therefore facing financial hardship. B. The transfers must be for a minimum of four (4) hours and in whole hour increments thereafter. C. Transfers shall be allowed to cross-departmental lines in accordance with the policies of the receiving department. D. The total maximum leave credits received by an employee shall normally not exceed five hundred twenty (520) hours; however, if approved by his/her appointing authority, the total leave credits may be up to one thousand forty (1,040) hours. Total leave credits in excess of one thousand forty (1,040) hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the appointing authority subject to the approval of the Chief Administrative Officer. E. The transfers are irrevocable, and will be indistinguishable from other leave credits belonging to the receiving employee. Transfers will be subject to all taxes required by law. F. Leave credits that may be transferred under this program are defined as the transferring employee’s vacation credits or up to twenty-four (24) hours of sick leave per fiscal year. G. Transfers shall be administered according to the rules and regulations of the Auditor and Controller, and made on a form prescribed by the Auditor and Controller. Approvals of the receiving and donating employee, the donating employee's appointing authority and the receiving employee's appointing authority (in the case of an interdepartmental transfer) will be provided for on such form. H. This program is not subject to the Grievance Procedure of this Agreement.
