Workability Sample Clauses

A Workability clause defines the requirement that the terms of a contract must be practical and capable of being performed as intended by the parties. In practice, this clause ensures that if any part of the agreement is found to be unworkable or impossible to implement, the parties will cooperate to modify or replace the problematic provision with one that achieves the same commercial intent. The core function of a Workability clause is to maintain the effectiveness and enforceability of the contract, even if unforeseen issues arise that could otherwise render certain terms impractical or void.
Workability. The workability range for all PFA concrete (slump) shall be between 50 and 75 mm. PSGA-5.4.3 Mixing 4.3.1 after item (f): 4.3.1 Ready-mixed concrete
Workability a) Use approved chemical admixtures as needed for workability so that concrete can be placed, consolidated, and finished without segregation or excessive bleeding.
Workability. The asphalt mixture must have uniform softness and be in such condition at the time of delivery at destination that it can be handled satisfactorily without heating when the temperature is 40°F. and above and will not ▇▇▇▇▇▇ when stored outside in a stockpile. The mixture shall be capable of being stockpiled for not less than two (2) weeks, and when taken from a stockpile, shall be capable of being shoveled, raked, spread and compacted. Sampling and testing of the delivered product is up to the discretion of the RME in the event the material does not appear to be uniformly coated with asphalt binder or is non-workable. Maintenance personnel may randomly obtain one sample from each lot of material. A lot will be the material delivered. The sample will be quartered into 2 separate samples weighing between 5-10 pounds each. One sample will be submitted to the Office of Materials and Research in Columbia for testing. The other sample will be retained as a check sample. When the first sample is out of the master range and/or tolerance for residual asphalt content the check sample will be submitted for testing. When both samples fail on gradation and/or residual asphalt content there shall be a 10% reduction in unit bid price for that lot. In the event that the material is found to be non-workable, the RME must contact the supplier and have the mixture replaced by the supplier as the supplier’s expense within 30 days of receipt of the material
Workability. Workability of concrete should be checked at frequent intervals. It shall be checked at frequent intervals by approved tests such as slump tests, compacting factor tests etc. in accordance with IS 1199. If required the same shall be controlled by adjusting the dosage of the admixtures if permitted by the Engineer-In-Charge. • The range of slumps for various types of work shall generally be as follows subject to approval by the Engineer-In-Charge unless stated otherwise. Slump required for workability shall be achieved, if necessary by using approved super plasticizer without any extra cost. Mass concrete; Lightly reinforced sections in slabs, beams, walls, columns, Floors, hand placed pavements, Strip footings 75 25 Heavily reinforced sections in slabs, beams, walls, columns; Slip formwork, Pumped concrete 100 100 50 75 Trench fill; In-situ piling 150 100 Note: For most of the placing conditions, internal vibrators (needle vibrator) are suitable. The diameter of the needle shall be determined based on the density and the spacing of reinforcement bars and thickness of the sections. For trieme concrete, vibrators are not required to be used and clause 7.1.2 of IS : 456 - 2000 shall be followed in such case.
