Common use of Work in Higher Classification Clause in Contracts

Work in Higher Classification. An employee who is specifically assigned to do work at a higher level than he/she is normally assigned for eight hours or more shall be compensated at the base rate of the corresponding entry level for the assigned position. If reasonably available, persons assigned to work at such positions should be from a list of eligible employees for promotion to that classification at the time of service. Subject to the other provisions of this Agreement, payment for such activity shall be made pursuant to Article 33.
