Common use of Work Day Defined Clause in Contracts

Work Day Defined. The normal work day for full-time school building personnel shall be seven and one-half (7-1/2) hours, and the normal work week shall consist of thirty-seven and one-half (37-1/2) hours, Monday through Friday, both inclusive. The normal work day for full-time central and related offices will be eight (8) hours and the normal work week shall consist of forty (40) hours, Monday through Friday, both inclusive. However, nothing contained herein shall be construed as a guarantee of seven and one-half (7-1/2) or eight (8) hours of work or pay per day, or thirty-seven and one-half (37-1/2) or forty (40) hours of work or pay per week, whichever is applicable. In the event a reduction in total hours worked per week by unit employees is deemed necessary by the Board, all secretaries shall have their hours reduced by like amounts of time. In the event a reduction in the number of weeks worked per year for secretaries is deemed necessary by the Board such reduction shall be considered a force reduction and be achieved in accordance with Section 7 of Article V.
