Weekly Leave. The Employee is entitled to one fully paid weekly day of rest, which is Friday unless the nature of the work requires otherwise.
Weekly Leave a) A member is considered to be on weekly leave, immediately at the end of the final minute of the scheduled end of the last shift on his or her tour of duty, with the exception of those remaining in the workplace on continuing overtime. b) A member is considered to be on weekly leave until no less than four (4) hours prior to the scheduled commencement of their first regular tour of duty. c) The only exception to the above is as it relates to the compensation to be paid for a court appearance on the first (1st) day of a Third (3rd) Relief Tour of duty. This shall be compensated by a minimum of four (4) hours at time and one-half times (1.5x) the membersregular hourly rate of pay. If the time spent by the member on such a court appearance exceeds four (4) hours, then all time in excess of four (4) hours shall be paid at two times (2x) the regular hourly rate of pay. Provided, that upon request of the member concerned, compensating time off will be allowed in lieu of the overtime pay referred to above on the basis of one and one-half (1.5) hours for each hour to the credit of such member up to four (4) hours, and two (2) hours for each hour to the credit of such member in excess of four (4) hours.
Weekly Leave. Where a member is required to take weekly leave on days which are not consecutive then the member will be paid a premium of four (4) hours at straight-time; provided, however, the scheduled weekly leave days may be varied for members attending training courses without payment of the four (4) hour premium.
