Web use Clause Samples

Web use. The licensee is allowed to use the desktop fonts on the web as an image (non-selectable text, non-installa- ble fonts) at a marginal price. Webfonts can be used across all websites/domains owned by the licensee as long as the preset number of page views does not exceed the allowed limit under the purchased license. For using fonts in online films, movies, animations distributed on YouTube, Facebook, etc, the licensee agrees to purchase a Webfont license covering the required number of page views. The licensee may buy a (additional) self-hosting license to cover installation of fonts on web servers. This license gives the licensee complete control over their website and the full benefits of using webfonts provid- ed by the foundry. Please use the provided WOFF2 file for running text on the web.
Web use. This license allows you to use the fonts on websites via CSS @font-face rules. The traffic for those websites must remain within the limits defined in this license.
Web use. You may embed the webfonts contained in the Font Software on websites with no limits to visitors or views. You must use the webfonts provided in your package. Linking to the full OpenType or TrueType Font Software, designed for desktop installation, is prohibited. The webfonts may only be installed on website domains that are under the direct control of the licensee. Font Software may not be embedded on websites or tools that generate dynamic artwork, or documents, with the fonts that can be exported for use outside the context of the website.
Web use. The end user is allowed to use the desktop fonts on the web as an image only (non-selectable text). It is prohibited to host a copy of these fonts as a web font on your own website. Please use the provided WOFF2 file for running text on the web (if it isn’t provided, ask for one by getting in touch via email or wait for the next update).
Web use. The licensee is limited to the uploading of typeface software to their organisations servers, websites (domains and sub domains owned by the licensee) and the total number of unique visitors as stated in the order summary. Clients or third parties do not constitute a part of the licensees organisation and typeface software may not be used by a third party organisation. Typeface software intended for web use (.woff) may not be used as a desktop font or converted to any other format.
Web use. This section only applies to licensees whose purchased license includes web use. (1) The licensees may embed the fonts (so-called self-hosted web fonts that the licensees host on their servers) in their websites with a maximum number of total monthly pageviews, measured as an average traffic over the span of six consecutive months, as speci- fied on the invoice. If the maximum number of monthly pageviews is exceeded, the licensees are obligated to immediately upgrade their license or otherwise discontinue embedding the fonts until the license has been upgraded. The price of an upgrade will be based upon the licensor’s pricing tables in effect at the respective time. If an upgrade of the license is required, the licensor will be happy to provide detailed information at ▇▇▇▇▇@▇▇▇▇▇▇▇-▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇. If no number of monthly pageviews is specified on the invoice, the maximum number is zero. The fonts may only be embedded in websites that are under the ownership or exclusive control of the licensee’s business, organization, or household. (2) The licensees may embed the fonts in websites for displaying and editing, but not for generating output created by the website end user using the fonts, namely documents or data files (e.g. PDFs, word processing documents, spreadsheets, labeled photos, static images, scalable images, advertisements). The licensees may not embed the fonts in any application that is a server compo- nent in a client-server architecture. (3) The licensees may only embed the font formats for web use (WOFF, WOFF2) into their websites using the CSS @font-face rule. They may not embed the OpenType fonts (OTF) designed for desk- top use or the TrueType fonts (TTF) designed for app use.
Web use. You may not use the fonts on a website using CSS @font-face, or any other method of rendering text on-the-fly, on a website without a Web Use Addendum. Using the fonts in pre-made rasterized images, such as a .gif or .png, requires aDesktop Use Addendum.
