Web Publishing. To publicize the achievements of our students, Milan Area Schools staff likes to occasionally publish students’ names, photographs, and academic/extracurricular achievements in a variety of media formats. We take precautions and abide by the Safety Procedures below. Formats may include: ● Photographs ● Videos ● Presentations - Parent Programs, Professional Development activities, fundraising, and newspaper ● Classroom or District Public Relations, Staff Blogs, Staff Webpages, Staff Facebook Pages Safety Procedures: ● Use only first names unless parent/guardian has submitted written permission. ● Personal information (full names, address, phone number, etc.) about students will not be included anywhere online. Web Publishing. A. The Johnson City Schools' web server cannot be used for profit, commercial purposes, to express personal opinions, or to editorialize. B. All web sites will be reviewed by the District Technology Supervisor or Principal before being added to the Johnson City School’s webserver. C. The District Technology staff reserve the right to reject all or part of a proposed web page. D. Each posted page must include: the school location, date of last update, and an electronic mail address. E. All posted work must be of publishable quality with regard to spelling, usage, and mechanics. F. All web page authors are responsible for the maintenance of their own pages. G. All links should be checked regularly to make sure they are current and working. H. Pages that are not updated in a timely fashion, contain inaccurate or inappropriate information, or contain links that do not work will be removed and the author will be notified. I. Teacher created web pages stored on a commercial or private server may be a link from a school created web page stored on the Johnson City Schools’ web server. ▇. Student pictures and other personally identifiable information should only be used with permission in writing from the parent/guardian of the student involved. No full names should be used-only first name, last initial. No written permission is required for in- school broadcasts (i.e. morning news, announcements, class profiles, etc.) ▇. Student posting of personal information about himself/herself or other students or staff of any kind is prohibited. Personal information includes: home and/or school address, work address, home, cellular and/or school phone numbers, full name, social security number, etc. L. No written permission is required to list faculty/staff and their school contact information (phone extension, electronic mail address, etc.) M. Infringement of copyright laws and the posting of obscene, pornographic, harassing or threatening materials on web sites are against the law and will subject the responsible party to discipline and/or prosecution.

All web pages must comply with all state, federal, and international laws concerning copyright, intellectual property and use of telecommunications. D. Permission is indicated on the attached form. In order to safeguard students, the following procedures have been established: 1. Pictures of groups of students involved in a school-related activity may be published without consent; however, the students shall only be identified by group name; students shall not be individually identified in pictures unless there is a special reason for doing so, such as recognition for receiving an award. In such cases, the student's parent/guardian or eligible student must give written consent (through the permission form above). 2. Contingent upon receiving signed releases from the minor student’s parent/guardian or from the student 18 years or older, student work may be published on a the Lakeland School System website under the following guidelines: ● Grades K-8 - Authors of electronically published work may be identified only by first name. Schools may choose to let students adopt “net names.” ● Grades 9-12 - Authors of electronically published work may be identified by first and last name. ● All student work published must pertain to a class project, course, or other school-related activity.

A staff member’s primary web page should be housed on the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ City Schools’ web site hosted by School in Sites. D. Links from pages housed on the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ City Schools’ website to personal blogs, social networking sites, advertisements unrelated to school system business, and/or personal web pages are prohibited. E. Student pictures or other personally identifiable information can be used in accordance with the signed “▇▇▇▇▇▇ City Schools Acceptable Use Agreement” and in accordance with CIPA and FERPA guidelines. Student posting of personally identifying information of any kind on the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ City Schools’ website or linking to personal information from the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ City Schools’ website is prohibited. In some cases, use of first names, last initial is appropriate for secondary students. Anything placed on the web for public consumption falls under these guidelines. Any Internet posting will be for educational, non-commercial use, and all postings must have prior approval from teachers or system administrators. • Published content may include images, videos, and products of OHS students. This material may include videos of class activities, art, writing, and student-produced content. The school's policy is to post these to protected sites and forums accessible only by the student, their parents, and OHS faculty. Misuse of this access by parents or students violates our acceptable use policy. By accepting this contract, the parent acknowledges the school's right to such publishing. • Only post appropriate pictures, videos, or other forms of electronic media or software. • The school uses web-publishing tools as a forum for expression. However, such tools are designed for learning, and as such, they will sometimes be constrained by classroom teachers' various requirements and rules. In these forums, students are welcome to post on any school-appropriate subject. • Use web publishing tools to share creative expression with authentic audiences. Most visitors who comment will leave respectful, helpful messages. Students who receive uncomfortable or disrespectful comments should tell a teacher right away. Students should not respond to posted comments. Honesty While Online Students understand that masquerading, spoofing, or pretending to be someone else is forbidden. This behavior includes but is not limited to sending out emails, creating accounts, or posting messages or other online content (e.g., text, images, audio, or video) acting as another person or using another person's account.

Related to Web Publishing

  • SUPPLIER PUBLICATIONS Any marketing materials in relation to this Framework Agreement that that Supplier produces must comply in all respects with the Branding Guidance. The Supplier will periodically update and revise such marketing materials.

  • RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION 29 CONTRACTOR shall not utilize information and/or data received from COUNTY, or arising out 30 of, or developed, as a result of this Agreement for the purpose of personal or professional research, or 31 for publication. 32

  • Approval for Publishing The Author shall proofread the page proofs for the Contribution provided by or on behalf of the Publisher, including checking the illustrations as well as any media, social or functional enhancements and give approval for publishing, if and when requested by the Publisher. The Author’s approval for publishing is deemed to have been given if the Author does not respond within a reasonable period of time (as determined by the Publisher) after receiving the proofs nor contacts the Publisher within three days after receipt of the last of three reminders sent by the Publisher via email. The Publisher shall not be required to send a second set of corrected proofs unless specifically requested by the Author in writing but in any event no further amendments may be made or requested by the Author. In the event of co-authors having entered into this Agreement the Publisher shall send the page proofs to the Corresponding Author only and all persons entering into this Agreement as Author agree that the Corresponding Author shall correct and approve the page proofs on their behalf. If the Author makes changes other than correcting typographical errors, the Author shall bear all the Publisher's costs of such alterations to proofs including without limitation to alterations to pictorial illustrations. The Publisher shall have the right to charge and invoice these costs plus value added or similar taxes (if applicable) through its affiliated company Springer Nature Customer Service Center GmbH or Springer Nature Customer Service Center LLC, respectively, to the Author, payable within 14 days of receipt of the invoice.

  • Metadata Where the Contractor has or generates metadata as a result of services provided to the Province, where that metadata is personal information, the Contractor will: not use it or disclose it to any other party except where the Agreement otherwise specifies; and remove or destroy individual identifiers, if practicable.

  • MPS LOGO/PUBLICITY No Contractor shall use the MPS Logo in its literature or issue a press release about the subject of this Contract without prior written notice to and written approval of MPS’s Executive Director of Communications & Outreach.
