Common use of Voluntary Standby Clause in Contracts

Voluntary Standby. The Company will determine the number and locations of employees required for Voluntary Standby. Employees volunteering to be on standby will be paid $1.50 for each hour of standby coverage outside of their assigned shift(s). They will be required to carry a communications device and respond promptly. An employee that is on a voluntary standby assignment that includes a statutory holiday as defined in Article 14.01 will be paid at the Mandatory Standby rate for the holiday and their normal rest days if the rest days immediately precede or follow the statutory holiday.
