Vacation Selection Process. a. The Employer will provide to Employees in November of the year prior to the vacation year, a vacation schedule for January 1st to March 31st outlining the number of Employees that can take vacation by Classification/ Primary, by shift, by week, this vacation schedule will be provided prior to the vacation selection process. The Employer will also provide to the Employees on February 1st a vacation schedule for April 1st to December 31st outlining the number of employees that can take vacation by classification, by shift, by week, (at the same time the Employer will notify the Employees of the summer shutdown and seek volunteers for the summer vacation shutdown). The Employer will assure that the schedule includes enough vacation availability for each employee to take their allotted vacation time. b. All classifications will be allotted a minimum 15% vacation allotment per crew per week. There will be no reduction in any weeks and no employee will be forced on vacation earlier than June 1st of the vacation year. Single day PPV will not be included in the 15% allotment. c. After the vacation selection process is complete and an employee cancels vacation time, the open week of vacation will be posted for five (5) days and filled by seniority. Subsequent vacation openings will be filled on a “first come first serve” basis.
