Common use of Use of Email Clause in Contracts

Use of Email. Communicating with clinicians directly through text messaging or unencrypted emailing is not recommended due to the insecure nature of the mediums and therefore does not meet the highest standards of confidentiality. On rare occasions, clients may want to provide information to the clinician via email but it is the policy of the MOCE that therapists provide only a response that simply acknowledges the receipt of the message without including any PHI.
