Upward Sample Clauses

Upward. The Employee and Public Services Director will grant status to the incumbent when either: 1) there has been no essential change in the duties and responsibilities of the position during the individual's incumbency; or 2) there has been a gradual change in the duties and the incumbent has satisfactorily performed the higher level tasks for at least six months. If neither of the conditions listed above exist, the incumbent may be transferred, demoted, laid off or compete for the reallocated position as specified in the Civil Service Rules.
Upward. When an employee's position is reallocated to a higher position, his/her salary shall be the minimum of the grade. If the employee's present salary is greater than the minimum salary of the higher grade position, he/she shall be placed on a step of the higher grade position which will result in a salary increase, which shall be at least the value of one (1) increment of the higher grade. Any 911 employees’ position which is re-allocated shall move to the same step as previously held.
