Common use of Transit Operator Clause in Contracts

Transit Operator. Relief Dispatcher 8.8.1 Transit Operator(s) in no instance shall suffer a reduction in her/his represented (regular) rate of pay and will receive a rate increase of 5% when they are actively participating in training. Once training is complete and the Operator is qualified to assume Relief Dispatcher duties their rate of pay will increase to the “same” Professional, Technical, Administrative Services (PTA) Transit Dispatcher Grade and wage step. (Example: Transit Operator Step E = Transit Dispatcher Step E). 8.8.2 Transit Operator(s) while performing the “Relief Dispatcher” position shall have two (2) consecutive days off scheduled. Schedules and days off will vary depending on the needs of the Agency. 8.8.3 While the Transit Operator is working in a “Relief Dispatcher” position their duties shall be limited in scope in that task involving disciplinary actions will be specifically excluded. Relief Dispatchers will have the authority to relieve an Operator for cause. 8.8.4 Transit Operators while working in a “Relief Dispatcher” position, will remain members of the ATU 758 and will continue to pay monthly dues via payroll deduction if they so choose, and receive all benefits and accruals set forth by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) by and between ATU Local 758 and RiverCities Transit (City of Longview). 8.4.5 The Transit Operator will only receive the Relief Dispatcher pay/wage when performing the Relief Dispatcher duties.
