Temporary Transfer. An untrained Orderly is considered to be on probation for six months or until he completes the Orderly training course provided by the Hospital, whichever occurs first. A copy further extension of three months may be mutually agreed on should he fail in his first attempt to pass the course. Continuation of employment will depend on successful completion of the current job description for a bargaining unit position course. At the end of six months and providing he has successfully completed the course he shall be made available reclassified and will start at the six month rate of trained Orderly. A Registered Nursing Assistant is defined as a person who is registered by the College of Nurses of Ontario in accordance with the Health Disciplines Act of Registered Nursing Assistants are required to present to the Union upon requestNursing Administration Office by February of each year their current certificate of competence. Such time shall be extended for satisfactory reasons. Failure to provide proof of certification by the above date (or extended date) shall result in the Registered Nursing Assistant, being reverted to the salary status of a Nursing Assistant, non-registered. Reinstatement to the status of a Registered Nursing Assistant shall be effective the first pay period following the date of presentation of proof of certification as above. A_RT_ COMPENSATION Transfer to Lower Rated Classification Page Should an employee transfer, through a Job Posting, to a lower rated job classification, the employee will move to the same increment time step within the lower range. When an employee is transferred from a higher rated job classification to a lower rated job classification for the convenience of the Hospital and the ease of its operation, he shall continue to be paid at his current rate until such time as the rate(s) in the classification to which transferred, provides an increase above his current rate. When an employee is transferred from a higher rated job classification to a lower rated job classification at his own request on a temporary basis, in accordance with Article the employee will move to the same increment time step within the lower range.

Temporary Transfer. When an employee is assigned temporarily to perform the duties and assume the responsibilities of a higher paying position in the bargaining unit for a period in excess of one-one half of a shift, he shall be paid the rate immediately above his current cur- rent rate in the higher classification to which he was assigned from the commencement of the shift on which he was assigned the job. Job Classification When a new classification (which is covered by the terms of this Collective Agreement) is established by the Hospital, the Hospital shall determine the rate of pay for such new classification and notify the local Union of the same and provide details at least fourteen (14) days prior to postingwithin seven days. If the local Union challenges the rate, it shall have the right to request a meeting with the Hospital to endeavour to negotiate a mutually satisfactory rate. Such request will be made within ten (10) days after the receipt of notice from the Hospital of such new occupational classification and rate. Any change mutually agreed to resulting from such meeting shall be retroactive to the date that notice of the new rate was given by the Hospital.
