Common use of Temporary Transfer/Assignment Clause in Contracts

Temporary Transfer/Assignment. If an employee is temporarily assigned to a bargaining unit classification in a higher pay grade for a period of one (1) or more full work days, the employee will receive the base rate of the bargaining unit classification or 5% more than the employee’s present rate of pay for each such day, whichever is greater. An employee temporarily assigned to a lower rated classification shall not suffer a loss of pay. If the employee is temporarily assigned to a position outside the bargaining unit for a period of one (1) or more full work days, the employee will receive 5% more than the employee’s present rate of pay for each such day.

If an employee is temporarily assigned to a bargaining unit classification in a higher pay grade grade, and will be performing the work for a period of one two (12) or more consecutive, full work days, the employee will receive the base rate of the bargaining unit classification or 5% more than the employee’s present rate of pay for each such day, whichever is greater. An employee temporarily assigned to a lower rated classification shall not suffer a loss of pay. If the employee is temporarily assigned to a position outside the bargaining unit unit, and will be performing the work for a period of one two (12) or more consecutive full work days, the employee will receive 5% more than the employee’s present rate of pay for each such day.
