Substitute Duties. If an employee holds a valid Illinois teaching or substitute certificate and is requested to perform duties as a substitute teacher, it shall be strictly voluntary and the employee shall be compensated at the substitute rate of pay or his/her regular rate of pay whichever is higher. Any bargaining unit member who substitutes for an absent secretary for an extended period of time (defined as a minimum of four hours) will receive beginning Building Secretary rate of pay for all work performed as a Substitute Secretary.
