Common use of Student Teaching Clause in Contracts

Student Teaching. For the encouragement of continued professional development, extended professional leave with pay for a period not to exceed one (1) school semester may be granted by the Board. i.. Any non-instructional bargaining unit employee, who is a regular employee and has satisfactorily completed three (3) consecutive years of employment in the school district immediately prior to applying for leave to complete his/her student teaching requirements, may apply for extended professional leave with pay. Responsive to teacher shortage and ensure the candidate is annual contract and in year 4 at the discretion of the Superintendent.
