Standby Time. (1) In order to provide coverage for services during off-duty hours, it may be necessary to assign and schedule certain employees to standby duty. A standby duty assignment is made by a Department Head or comparable level supervisor who requires an employee to be available for work due to an urgent situation during on-duty time which may include nights, weekends, or holidays.
