The Stand-By Work clause defines the terms under which workers or contractors are required to remain available for work, even if active tasks are not immediately assigned. STAND-BY WORK. 28.01 STAND-BY PERIOD. An Employee shall be deemed to be on stand-by work when the Employee is assigned by the Employer to be available for a specific period by leaving word as to where the Employee may be reached for the purpose of responding to calls for immediate service after the Employee’s workday or on weekends or holidays.
28.02 STAND-BY PAY. Effective July 1, 2007, an Employee shall be paid an additional amount equal to two dollars ($2.00) for each hour or fraction of thirty (30) minutes or more of stand-by work and one dollar ($1.00) for less than thirty (30) minutes of stand-by work.
