Skid Trails and Fire Lines. Contractor shall construct cross ditches and water-spreading ditches on tractor roads and skid trails, where staked or otherwise marked on the ground by Forest Service. Forest Service shall designate cross ditching on Contractor-built fire lines prior to or during construction. By agreement, Contractor may use other comparable erosion control measures, such as backblading skid trails, in lieu of cross ditching.
