SHIFT PERIOD. A shift period shall consist of fourteen (14) consecutive weeks corresponding to seven (7) payroll periods, during which full-time employees shall be assigned to a regular shift. The shift assignments shall be based on the results of a shift bid procedure. At least six (6) weeks prior to the end of a shift period the employer shall require all full-time employees to submit in writing their 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices for shift assignment. Full-time employees would then be assigned work shifts in order of seniority. If, for example, two persons both desired the same shift position, the one with the most seniority would be awarded the position. Probationary employees may be exempted from the bidding process and be assigned a shift position by the Employer.
