Common use of Seniority Following Reinstatement Clause in Contracts

Seniority Following Reinstatement. An employee shall give notice of resignation at least two (2) weeks in advance. An employee who resigns or otherwise leaves the employment of the University in good standing shall be reinstated to a position with full credit for prior service within three (3) years if selected through a standard hiring process. Seniority shall be determined by the original date of hire; however, seniority does not accrue during such absence.

An employee who resigns or otherwise leaves the employment of the University in good standing shall and who is rehired by the University within two (2) years after the date of separation from employment may be reinstated to a position with full credit for prior service within three (3) years if selected through a standard hiring processservice. Seniority shall be determined by the original date of hire; however, however seniority does and benefits do not accrue during such absence. The two (2) year reinstatement time shall be held in abeyance during periods of a complete University hiring freeze.
