Section 9.1.4. 29 Adoption leave shall be granted upon the same terms to employees who become adoptive 30 parents at the time of birth or initial placement for children. 32 Requests for adoption leave shall be submitted no later than twenty (20) workdays prior to the 33 beginning date of the leave. The request shall include the approximate beginning and ending 34 dates for the leave requested. 36 An employee may use up to five (5) days first using personal leave and then deducting 37 remaining time from sick leave, prior to the adoption for court proceedings, home study and 38 evaluation, required home visits and other procedures leading to completion to the adoption 39 process. 40 41 Adoption leave will be charged in half (½) day or full day increments. 42
