Common use of Secondments Clause in Contracts

Secondments. (a) A nurse who is seconded from the Hospital to a committee/position involving the Health Sector, the Broader Public Sector, or the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period of up to five (5) years. Notwithstanding Article 10.04 there shall be no loss of seniority or service during such leave. Subject to the agreement of the agency to which the nurse is seconded, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the Hospital shall be reimbursed for the full cost of salary and applicable benefits by the agency to which the nurse is seconded. The nurse agrees to notify the Hospital of her or his intention to return to work at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of such return.
