Common use of School in Session Clause in Contracts

School in Session. The School District reserves the right, if school is in session, to cancel any of the above holidays and establish another holiday in lieu thereof. Upon mutual agreement between the District and the Exclusive Representative, the District shall pay each employee their holiday pay equivalent in the event another holiday day off cannot be established. The establishment of the new holiday and employee notification of such, or the determination of pay for the holiday will be completed within one (1) week of the original cancellation of holiday. Any legal holiday or holiday which falls within an employee's vacation period shall not be counted as a vacation day.
