Sampling Methodology. Parameters measured include discharge (cfs) using USGS pygmy and price AA meters with a Xxxxxxx digital revs/secs counter, suspended sediment (DH 48 wading sampler, DH 59 bridge sampler at site EBR-003 during high flows), bedload sediment (Helly-Xxxxx 3" sampler), and turbidity with a HACH 2100A turbidity meter. Standard sample collection techniques associated with each equipment type are used in the field. Sampling methodology shall remain the same unless otherwise approved by the EBOC in the event of sampling technique or equipment changes.
Sampling Methodology. The concrete slab floors will be breached with an electric drill and sub-slab gas sampling will be conducted directly beneath the slab (within any encountered subgrade aggregate fill materials). Sample tubing (0.188 inch inner diameter Teflon) will be inserted below the slab to a depth no greater than two inches into the sub-slab material (actual depth will be dependant on Site conditions and the cause of any significant deviation will be documented). Any space between the borehole and tubing will be sealed off with a non-VOC containing material to prevent surface air from entering the system. Air in the Teflon tubing will be screened for VOCs prior to purging. For all sampling locations, the exact purge volume will be dependent on the boring depth and subsequent length of tubing. Three borehole and tubing volumes will be purged prior to collection. The purge rate will not exceed 0.2 liters per minute. If warranted, purge gas will be discharged outside of the building, via plastic tubing. Following purging of ambient air from the collection device, soil gas samples will be collected over a one-hour period (at a rate not exceeding 0.2 liters per minute) into individual laboratory-certified clean Summa canisters equipped with one-hour flow regulators.
Sampling Methodology. Sample locations will be determined by the conditions encountered on the Site. Sediment samples will be collected in areas of visual impact; however; if impact is not observed one surface water sample, one sediment (0-6 inches) sample, and one soil (6-12 inches) sample will be taken for comparison to data from sediment samples taken in 1995. The sediment and the soil samples will also be compared to the Division of Fish, Wildlife, and Marine Resources (DFWMR) sediment criteria and the protection of ecological resources values found in 6 NYCRR Part 375 Table 375 6.8b. In addition, one surface water and one sediment sample will be collected upstream of the Site in order to evaluate background conditions.
Sampling Methodology. The sample frame that will be used for this research is the Inter Departmental Business Register (IDBR). The key components of the sampling methodology include: The sampling requirements of the survey are detailed in section 4.3 of the CVTS4 manual. In summary, the minimum requirements for the sample are as follows: · UK enterprises with 10 or more persons; · Stratified by 20 XXXX Rev.2 industry categories B, C10-C12 ,C13-C15 ,C17-C18, C19-C23, C24-C25, C26-C28 and C33, C29-C30, C16+C31-32, D-E, F, G(45), G(46), G(47), I, H, J, K(64,65), K(66), L+M+N+R+S; as well as the UK extension of XXXX categories A, O, P and Q. · Stratified by six enterprise size categories depending on the number of persons employed: (10-19) (20-49) (50-249) (250-499) (500-999) (1000 and more); · Achieved sample and response rate should be sufficient to assure a maximum half length of the 95% confidence interval of 20% for each cell in a matrix of 24 XXXX by 6 size categories. In terms of the sampling procedure, for each sample stratum, the number of sampling units in the frame needs to be counted and recorded, and the pre-defined number of sampling units has to be taken by simple random sampling. All data available about the sampling units (response and non-response) will be saved and every effort will be made to reduce the unit and item non-response during the fieldwork process. The response rate will be assessed by Eurostat as: achieved interviews / the whole sample issued less any non-contactable deadwood The contractor will therefore ensure that attempts are made to contact the entire sample (i.e. non will be ‘parked’), anticipating the likely rate of ‘deadwood’ (non-contactable) in the total sample. The contractor will aim for an achieved response rate of 50% in order to calculate the overall required sample size. Progress reports Progress reports for fieldwork will be provided weekly, with more frequent contact where necessary at the front and back end of the project. The Contractor will also provide the Department with access to a secure web-based project portal, which will show progress in fieldwork. Data coding and cleaning The importance of adhering to the quality control procedures as specified by Eurostat is paramount. These requirements will be thoroughly analysed by the Contractor prior to the fieldwork to ensure that all necessary checks and procedures are in place before the data is gathered. The validity checks specified in the CVTS4 manual should be coded into the ...
