Common use of Salary Reductions Clause in Contracts

Salary Reductions. Salary reductions may be made as a result of an employee's diminished service value, as a part of a general plan to reduce salaries and wages as an economy measure, or as part of a general curtailment program. No reduction shall be made below the minimum position rate established for the class to which the reduced employee's position is allocated. Notice of the reduction shall be given by the employer not later than two (2) weeks prior to the effective date of the reduction. Any employee whose salary has been reduced shall receive a written statement of the reasons for such action.
