Salary Reductions. No salary shall be reduced as a result of promotion or lateral re-assignment.

The parties agree that for the period from June 24, 2012 through June 21, 2014, the City will not exercise any of the rights granted under this Section 11.7 (Salary Reduction) to reduce employee salaries. Provided further that during the period from June 24, 2012 through June 20, 2015, the City agrees that it will not enforce the provision in this Section 11.7 (Salary Reduction) that allows the City to reduce an employee’s salary as a result of an “employee’s diminished service value.”

Salary Reductions. In the event a regular employee is moved from one position to another position in the same or similar classification and same pay range, the then current salary step and anniversary date shall carry from one position to another. In the event a permanent employee is moved from one position to another position in another class that has a lower salary range maximum, his salary shall be placed in the lower range at the step which will equate with his current salary, but not to exceed the maximum of that range. The employee’s anniversary date will remain the same as though the change in classification had not occurred.
