Retiree-Annuitants. a. Eligible retiree-annuitants will be those retired City employees who meet the requirements of CalPERS retirement. The City shall continue to participate in the retiree-annuitant portion of the Public Employees Medical and Hospital Care Act ("PEMHCA") as provided for in Government Code Section 22857, unless and until such time that it negotiates its withdrawal. Retiree-annuitants will continue to receive the same direct PEMHCA City contribution as active employees (i.e., the PEMHCA minimum). The City's contribution to the flexible benefits plan for active employees shall not be considered part of the City's PEMHCA contributions.
